About the project:

Custom residence constructed on a 100-acre property designed by noted Berkeley, California architects Fernau and Hartman. The home was oriented and designed to make use of passive solar heating and incorporates gunned earth walls for thermal mass. Materials selection was driven by the directive to repurpose materials, such as; stone floors reclaimed from granite blocks from San Francisco’s Union Square and wood floors salvaged from walnut orchards.
